Terms of Service

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern the use of Hardcuts, Hardcuts Render and the hardcuts.io website, operated by Matthias Pieroth, Germany. By purchasing a license or creating an account, you agree to these terms in full.

2. License

Purchasing a Hardcuts or Hardcuts Render license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the licensed product on your own devices for your own work — commercial or personal.

You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lend, or redistribute the software or your license to any third party.

Each license is for its purchaser. An account is optional for new purchases. You may not share your activation code or license file with others.

3. Versions & Updates

Alpha license ($29.99): Grants access to all Alpha builds and all 1.x releases. Alpha buyers receive updates throughout the entire 1.x release line at no additional cost.

Hardcuts Render license ($9.99): Grants access to Hardcuts Render and all updates throughout the 1.x release line at no additional cost.

Hardcuts 2.0 will be a new paid major version. Existing license holders will be offered an upgrade at a discounted price.

4. Payment

All purchases are one-time payments processed via Stripe. Prices are listed in USD. Displayed prices exclude any applicable local taxes unless stated otherwise during checkout.

You can purchase HardCuts and HardCuts Render without an account. Each product has its own license and 14-day trial, starting at its first successful online launch and working offline until its fixed end date. Activation codes are delivered by email and can be recovered through My licenses. New purchases allow 2 active devices per license. Activate once on each computer with the current app and an internet connection, then use your purchased license offline. Internet is needed for activation and device changes.

Existing customers can request a free activation code when updating to the new licensing version. Ownership is checked against the existing account or confirmed license email. Converted licenses retain their original product, version and prerelease permissions and support 2 registered computers. Internet is needed to activate or change computers; activated existing-customer licenses work offline. Keep .hcl files for older app versions. Before moving an offline activation, release it in the old app or remove that installation; a website release cannot remotely disable an offline copy. Contact contact@hardcuts.io if a computer is lost or an activation fails.

5. Refunds

Because Hardcuts and Hardcuts Render are digital software products, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds after a license has been issued.

If you experience a technical issue preventing you from using the software, contact us and we will do our best to resolve it.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

• — Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• — Remove or alter any copyright or license notices
• — Use the software to develop a competing product
• — Circumvent or tamper with the license verification system
• — Share, distribute, or publicly post your license file

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

Hardcuts is provided "as is" during the Alpha phase. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, feature completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Alpha software may contain bugs and is subject to significant change.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to loss of data or lost profits.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction is Germany.
