Terms of Service
Last updated: March 2026
1. Scope
These Terms of Service govern the use of the Hardcuts software and the hardcuts.io website, operated by Matthias Pieroth, Germany. By purchasing a license or creating an account, you agree to these terms in full.
2. License
Purchasing a Hardcuts license grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the software on your own devices for your own work — commercial or personal.
You may not sublicense, sell, rent, lend, or redistribute the software or your license to any third party.
Each license is tied to a single account. You may not share your license file with others.
3. Versions & Updates
Alpha license ($49): Grants access to all Alpha builds and all 1.x releases. Alpha buyers receive updates throughout the entire 1.x release line at no additional cost.
Hardcuts 2.0 will be a new paid major version. Existing license holders will be offered an upgrade at a discounted price.
4. Payment
All purchases are one-time payments processed via Stripe. Prices are listed in USD and exclude any applicable local taxes.
You must have a Hardcuts account to purchase a license. Your license is available for download from your account dashboard at any time after purchase.
5. Refunds
Because Hardcuts is a digital software product, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds after a license has been issued.
If you experience a technical issue preventing you from using the software, contact us and we will do our best to resolve it.
6. Prohibited Use
You agree not to:
- — Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
- — Remove or alter any copyright or license notices
- — Use the software to develop a competing product
- — Circumvent or tamper with the license verification system
- — Share, distribute, or publicly post your license file
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Hardcuts is provided "as is" during the Alpha phase. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, feature completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Alpha software may contain bugs and is subject to significant change.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the software, including but not limited to loss of data or lost profits.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Place of jurisdiction is Germany.
10. Contact
