Blender Bridge
Exchange linked model updates between Blender and HardCuts.
Updated
The HardCuts Bridge add-on exchanges models through a shared bridge folder. Both applications must use the same folder.
Set up the connection
- Install and enable the supplied HardCuts Bridge add-on package in Blender.
- In its preferences, set Bridge Root.
- Set HardCuts Executable if you want the add-on to launch HardCuts.
- In HardCuts, choose File > Blender Bridge > Connect Bridge Folder... and select the same root folder.
- In Blender's 3D View sidebar, open the HardCuts tab.
Auto Launch HardCuts controls whether sending a model launches the configured executable.
Send from Blender
- Select the mesh to send in Blender.
- Click Send to HardCuts in the HardCuts sidebar.
- In HardCuts, use File > Blender Bridge > Receive from Blender to receive the pending transfer.
- Review the import options and continue modeling.
The sidebar's Linked Object section shows the link ID, revisions, and last status for the active mesh.
Return a result
- Select the result in HardCuts.
- Choose File > Blender Bridge > To Blender, or To Blender in the destination toolbar.
- In Blender, click Get from HardCuts.
The add-on handles linked updates and new results. Create Linked Copy On Return controls the copy-on-return behavior; inspect that option before receiving when you want to preserve the existing Blender object.
Transfer a baked low-poly package
Use Send Blender in the Retopo Bake tab after preparing the UV low-poly mesh and supported maps. See Retopology and Baking.
Resolve connection problems
Check that both sides point to the same Bridge Root. Use Open Bridge Folder in Blender to inspect the location.
Check the active object type and link status. Keep the source project saved before receiving a geometry update.
The bridge is an explicit send/receive workflow. It does not continuously synchronize every Blender scene property, modifier, or material.
